Guillermo Martí Ceballos was born in Barcelona in 1958. Son of landscape painter Oriol Martí (Valencia favorite pupil of the painter Juan Bautista Porcar) receives from an early age from his father the first lessons in the world of drawing and painting. In 1983 enters the Masana School of Barcelona with studies in graphic design. Stresses in the course of drawing and composition, and encouraged by his teacher, the painter Ramon Noah, he has dedicated to delve into this matter. Make several copies of the great past masters (Velázquez, Hogarth, Gainsborough, Vermeer, etc). In 1986 he entered the studio of Artists Painting and Santaló Boter. Thereby strengthens their academic training, and after passing through a stage impressionistic touches the purest colors and freedom of expression. Discover the most colorful, first Van Gogh and Gauguin, then the Fauves (Matisse, Derain) and the German Expressionists (Macke, Kirchner, etc). His palette is changing and the local color disappears becoming more pure. In 1987 he joined the Cercle Artistic de Sant LLuc carry out many studies of the natural and the female nude. Since then Martí Ceballos remains faithful to this discipline that will bring a lot of material for his later work in his studio. Make some collective exhibitions (1996 Palau Robert) and without abandoning his role as illustrator win some prizes as a poster (Festa Major de Gracia, Arenys sea, etc). In 2000 performed in his first solo exhibition in Barcelona (Galeria Kreisler) obtaining a significant sales success and critical. Since then continues to exhibit his work in galleries. In 2001 he won the second prize for painting in the Cercle Artistic de Sant LLuc and in 2004 the first prize for drawing in the same center. His work is spread across the Spanish territory and in countries like USA, France, Ireland and Austria. Its bold color palette with its elaborate synthesis of forms, which include urban issues with figures, makes his work highly personal, full of expressive force and an exquisite sensitivity. Figurative trend, but with a clear approach to Expressionism and Fauvism, their style continues to evolve towards greater simplification of forms, drawing their color patterns with defined plans that make your work space. Figuration, however, marred by its own perspective, feelings rather than realities, thus transporting the viewer to a dimension in which reality and fiction merge making us sharers in his own universe.
